DESCRIPTION:This class is for anyone who has undergone or is undergoing breast cancer treatment and will focus on lymphedema education and reducing the risk of its occurrence. \nDuring the class\, we will review the basic anatomy of the lymphatic system and define common procedures performed during the treatment course for breast cancer that affects lymphatics. Risk reduction strategies\, including compression sleeves\, will be reviewed in addition to the typical presentation of early lymphedema. \nFinally\, a brief description of Axillary Web Syndrome will also be reviewed\, and basic stretches/exercises to implement if cording is present.

These insightful classes are facilitated by oncology nurse navigators\, social workers\, and surgical nurses. \nIn this class\, you will: \n• Meet your navigator and learn about cancer support services available to you\n• Hear about pre-surgery instructions and your pre-admit appointment\n• Receive education in rehabilitation and lymphedema\n• Have your questions answered about treatment\, including chemotherapy\, biotherapy\, immunotherapy\, radiation therapy and clinical trials \nNote: 18y+ only. This class is not suitable for minors. Childcare is not provided. \nVideo-enabled attendance is available. These insightful classes are facilitated by oncology nurse navigators\, social workers\, and surgical nurses. \nIn this class\, you will: \n• Meet your navigator and learn about cancer support services available to you\n• Hear about pre-surgery instructions and your pre-admit appointment\n• Receive education in rehabilitation and lymphedema\n• Have your questions answered about treatment\, including chemotherapy\, biotherapy\, immunotherapy\, radiation therapy and clinical trials \nNote: 18y+ only. This class is not suitable for minors. Childcare is not provided. \nVideo-enabled attendance is available. Patients can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smartphone\, iPad\, laptop or webcam/desktop). Upon registering\, you will receive instructions on how to connect virtually.

DESCRIPTION:Ticket includes partner. \nThis class helps prepare parents for emergencies that may occur with infants and toddlers. Along with car seat safety and basic child proofing\, discussion will include prevention and treatment of common injuries. \nStudents will also learn and practice the skills necessary to perform infant and child CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)\, as well as the skills necessary to assist a choking infant and child. DESCRIPTION:Ticket includes partner. \nThe Spinning Babies® Parent Class is designed for expecting moms after the 20th week of pregnancy. This class highlights rotating the baby down and out of the pelvis. \nTurning (spinning) is referred to as fetal rotation and descent. During labor\, the baby must rotate and descend through the three levels of the pelvis to be born. Without this movement on the baby’s part\, vaginal birth is not possible. \nThe Spinning Babies® Parent Class Parent Class provides: \n\n·       3-4 hours of instruction and practical application\n·       Essential daily activities to give you greater ease in pregnancy and help give baby space to move and settle into the correct birth position.\n·       Balance techniques to prepare and maintain your body in a balanced\, supple\, and flexible condition for birth.\n·       Birth positions specific to the three levels of the pelvis as solutions when labor doesn’t move forward in a typical pattern.\n\nThe day of class requirements- \n\n·       Support person required (significant other\, friend\, mom etc.)\n·       Wear comfortable clothing.\n·       Bring a large exercise/ yoga ball (65-75cm) ALREADY INFLATED\, two pillows (bed pillows okay)\, and a large towel or yoga mat.\n\nIf this class is sold out and you need to take a class\, please email Chris.Marlo@Renown.org or leave a message at 775-982-4352. \nOur certified Parent Educators are not allowed to train other birth work or bodywork professionals in Spinning Babies®\, nor allow non-pregnant professionals to audit their class.
