DESCRIPTION:This class is for anyone who has undergone or is undergoing breast cancer treatment and will focus on lymphedema education and reducing the risk of its occurrence. \nDuring the class\, we will review the basic anatomy of the lymphatic system and define common procedures performed during the treatment course for breast cancer that affects lymphatics. Risk reduction strategies\, including compression sleeves\, will be reviewed in addition to the typical presentation of early lymphedema. \nFinally\, a brief description of Axillary Web Syndrome will also be reviewed\, and basic stretches/exercises to implement if cording is present.

DESCRIPTION:This support group provides support\, education\, networking\, and resource materials to caregivers coping with a loved one diagnosed with cancer. \nIn effort to provide the most supportive atmosphere for those caring for loved one dealing with cancer\, this group is for current cancer caregivers only. \nIf you have lost a loved one to cancer\, there are these groups available for support: \n\nGrief Support Groups in Reno\n\nIf you have cancer\, Renown offers the following support groups: \n\nCancer Support Group\nMen’s Prostate Cancer Support Group\nNewly Diagnosed Breast Cancer Orientation Class\nLymphedema Education & Risk Reduction Class\n\n*Virtual attendance is available. Link is sent one day before the meeting to email provided on registration. \nPlease note: You can renew registrations every calendar year. DESCRIPTION:This group is for all patients facing cancer. The meeting enables participants to share experiences and express feelings and concerns. All cancer patients\, family members\, survivors\, and caregivers are welcome to attend. \nMeets weekly on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in person and virtually. \nFor directions to Sierra Cafe 104\, please use the following link: Campus and Parking Maps | Renown Health \nClick on the “Renown Regional Medical Center Visitor Guide” to download the PDF map.  Sierra Cafe 104 is located on the 1st Floor of the Sierra Tower past the gift shop on the right as you enter the Sierra Cafe. \n\nVideo enabled attendance available. You can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smart phone\, iPad\, laptop\, or webcam/desktop). \nA virtual invitation with instructions on how to connect will be sent via email the Wednesday before the meeting.

DESCRIPTION:Managing Fear and Anxiety During Cancer Treatment \nJoin our compassionate cancer support group\, where you’ll find understanding\, strength\, and clarity as you navigate your journey. Together\, we tackle fears about treatment and prognosis\, offering guidance to help you manage overwhelming emotions. Be part of a supportive community that truly understands\, and gain tools to help both you and your family through these challenging times. You don’t have to face cancer alone—let’s support each other every step of the way. As one survivor said\, “It’s about discovering who you are and what brings you joy.” \nDuring the workshop you can expect to learn about the Mind-Body connection (the relationship between your thoughts and physical well-being) and how to use it to: \n– Uncover your questions and concerns \n– Improve overall energy\, mood and well-being \n– Learn how to tolerate treatment better \n– Contribute to a reduction in risk of recurrence \nEvery Monday from 10am-11am \nVirtual attendance is available.
