Led by licensed Physical Therapists\, this program focuses on improving mobility\, strength and overall wellness during every stage of recovery. \nWHO CAN JOIN\nIndividuals currently undergoing or recovering from breast cancer treatment seeking a safe and supportive way to regain strength and mobility. DESCRIPTION:This class is for anyone who has undergone or is undergoing breast cancer treatment and will focus on lymphedema education and reducing the risk of its occurrence. \nDuring the class\, we will review the basic anatomy of the lymphatic system and define common procedures performed during the treatment course for breast cancer that affects lymphatics. Risk reduction strategies\, including compression sleeves\, will be reviewed in addition to the typical presentation of early lymphedema. \nFinally\, a brief description of Axillary Web Syndrome will also be reviewed\, and basic stretches/exercises to implement if cording is present.

SUMMARY:Cancer Support Group
DESCRIPTION:This group is for all patients facing cancer. The meeting enables participants to share experiences and express feelings and concerns. All cancer patients\, family members\, survivors\, and caregivers are welcome to attend. \nMeets weekly on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in person and virtually. \nFor directions to Sierra Cafe 104\, please use the following link: Campus and Parking Maps | Renown Health \nClick on the “Renown Regional Medical Center Visitor Guide” to download the PDF map.  Sierra Cafe 104 is located on the 1st Floor of the Sierra Tower past the gift shop on the right as you enter the Sierra Cafe. \n\nVideo enabled attendance available. You can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smart phone\, iPad\, laptop\, or webcam/desktop). \nA virtual invitation with instructions on how to connect will be sent via email the Wednesday before the meeting.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on the path toward physical\, emotional and community wellness – because every step counts.\nThis welcoming walking group\, facilitated by Dr. Madeline Hardacre\, oncology wellness doctor\, brings together cancer survivors\, thrivers\, caregivers\, and care team members in a supportive space to promote healing and wellness\, wearing hats as a symbol of strength and unity. Participants walk at their own pace while sharing hope\, encouragement\, and connection. \nWhen: Mondays at 7am & Thursdays at 4:30pm. \nWhat to bring: A water bottle\, wear comfortable shoes\, and remember to apply sunscreen. A hat will be provided to registrants as available.

DESCRIPTION:1 TICKET = 2 PEOPLE \nThis 4-week childbirth preparation meets for 4 consecutive weeks. This class helps prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth and beyond. In addition\, this class provides a safe forum to ask questions and help you make informed decisions about key issues surrounding your baby’s birth. \nThis class will include topics such as: \n\nHealthy developments in your pregnancy\nStages of labor\nWarning signs\nBreathing and relaxation techniques\nComfort measures\nRole of the support person and labor support\nBirth planning\nHow to tell when you are in labor\nPain relief options during labor/medical procedures\nHow a birth doula can help\nCesarean birth\n\nOur certified instructors offer you support and guidance via education in a unique way that will meet your individual needs. \nWe believe that childbirth is a process\, not a method\, and we recognize that there is no one right way to give birth. \nPlease register using the expecting mother’s name and information. \nWaiting List \nAs a courtesy to those waiting\, kindly let us know if you are unable to attend.
