It is important for grandparents to learn the new recommendations for care\, based on research from doctors and scientists studying the physical and emotional development of infants and children. \nTaught by certified Safe Sitter® Instructors\, participants will learn how to provide the best and safest care for their grandchildren. They will also learn the latest information on how to safely care for infants and children\, how to manage the behavior of children of all ages\, and essential life-saving skills such as choking rescue\, first aid\, CPR\, and injury management. \nAdditionally\, learning tips on creating a good relationship from the start and how to respond to frequent babysitting requests will help grandparents enhance their relationship with their children and create lasting memories with their grandchildren. \nPlease note: There is a waiting list for this class. This class highlights rotating the baby down and out of the pelvis. \nTurning (spinning) is referred to as fetal rotation and descent. During labor\, the baby must rotate and descend through the three levels of the pelvis to be born. Without this movement on the baby’s part\, vaginal birth is not possible. \nThe Spinning Babies® Parent Class Parent Class provides: \n\n 3-4 hours of instruction and practical application\n Essential daily activities to give you greater ease in pregnancy and help give baby space to move and settle into the correct birth position.\n Balance techniques to prepare and maintain your body in a balanced\, supple\, and flexible condition for birth.\n Birth positions specific to the three levels of the pelvis as solutions when labor doesn’t move forward in a typical pattern.\n\nThe day of class requirements- \n\n· Support person required (significant other\, friend\, mom etc.)\n· Wear comfortable clothing.\n· Bring a large exercise/ yoga ball (65-75cm) ALREADY INFLATED\, two pillows (bed pillows okay)\, and a large towel or yoga mat.\n\nOur certified Parent Educators are not allowed to train other birth work or bodywork professionals in Spinning Babies®\, nor allow non-pregnant professionals to audit their class.
