DESCRIPTION:Class fee includes partner. \nPlease note: This class is a 2 in 1 class that includes the Newborn Care Class and Breastfeeding Basics and Beyond. \nThe morning portion of this class will include breastfeeding benefits and techniques\, the physiology of making milk\, positioning and latch\, how to know baby is getting enough milk\, keeping up your milk supply\, where to go for help\, learn about our lactation consultants and breastfeeding forums. Pump rentals and a visit to our Lactation Connection resource center are also included in this class. \nThe afternoon segment of this class will cover newborn appearances and behavior\, daily care of the newborn\, signs of illness\, and when to call the doctor. Tummy time\, comfort and soothing techniques\, how to keep your baby safe\, newborn screenings and vaccinations will also be discussed. Partners are encouraged to attend. DESCRIPTION:Designed for busy parents\, this all-in-one-day Childbirth Education Course will help prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth. You’ll learn the many facets of delivery\, with the opportunity to ask questions\, helping you make informed decisions about critical issues surrounding your baby’s birth. \nTopics include: \n\nHealthy developments in your pregnancy\nStages of labor\nWarning signs\nBreathing and relaxation techniques\nComfort measures\nRole of the support person and labor support\nBirth planning\nHow to tell when you are in labor\nPain relief options during labor/medical procedures\nHow a birth doula can help\nCesarean birth and Postpartum\n\nOur certified instructors will offer you support and guidance through education uniquely to meet your individual needs.\nWe believe that childbirth is a process\, not a method\, and we recognize that there is no one right way to give birth. \nTo attend\, please register using the expecting mother’s name and information. \nPlease bring the following to the class: \n\n75 cm exercise/yoga ball\n2-bed pillows\nA mat or towel for breathing and relaxation practice\n\n* Note: This class will not include a Baby and Family Suites Tour.
